#9 Vinton Cerf

Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist, Google

Vinton Cerf did not believe in limiting his objectives but instead he was open to the idea of collaborating with others and to target bigger goals. He is popular as the Father of Internet. First he worked on developing the TCP/IP technology along with the U.S. Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Next Vinton Cerf shifted to MCI and contributed in making MCI Mail which was the first commercial email system and then he joined Google in 2005. He also co-founded the Internet Society and served as one of the Board members of Gallaudet University, a university for the education of the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Vinton Cerf was an integral part of ICANN right from the beginning and now he has joined hands with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to build an interplanetary Internet that will be used for communication between planets and will utilize radio/lasers to transmit data.
