9. Delhi:

Over the last decade, the literacy rate in the capital city, Delhi has raised progressively, with 91.03 percent males and 80.93 percent of women literate. This is mainly attributed to the various reputed universities and educational institution that is house in this capital city. As such, most of the women opted for being educated before anything else. Because of its cosmopolitan and multi-ethnic culture, Delhi has an ever-growing demand for quality education system.

8. Chandigarh:

Chandigarh, a beautifully planned city well known internationally for its architecture is the only union territory with over 90 percent of developed area, and only a 2 percent or so people living in villages. Literacy rate in Chandigarh is 86.05 percent. Of that, male literacy stands at 90.54 percent while female literacy is at 86.14 percent.
