Ghanshyam Das left his family business of lending money on hocked items and travelled to Mumbai in order to start cotton dealership. After achieving great success in the field of dealership, Birla moved on to try his hands in various other industries like paper mill, a sugar factory, car factory, cement, steel and started a commercial bank, which is now known as United Commercial Bank. His moulti national company Aditya Birla operates in over 33 countries with an annual turnover of $35 Billion.
