Govindram rose to the position of a successful entrepreneur while the country was still in the chains of British rule. The period where not many Indian youngsters dared to step into business and entrepreneurship, he kept his nerves and went on to become the cotton king. His firm started in 1937 by selling vegetable oil and then he diversified his business to many fields. He was a member of Bombay cotton exchange, New York cotton exchange and many other cotton administrations around the globe.
