Operating since the 1940s, Nellis Air Force Base is an esteemed training facility and is the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center. In 2007, Nellis was North America's largest solar power plant. More than 6 million solar cells are laced throughout 72,000 panels, letting the base generate about 30 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy each year. The buildings of the base are equipped with arctic vestibules, which provide them an all-round shelter and security.
