10 Countries with Maximum Press Freedom



Renowned philanthropist Warren Buffett once said “The smarter the journalists are, the better off society is. For to a degree, people read the press to inform themselves - and the better the teacher, the better the student body.” This is indeed true. The next country on the index is-
Liechtenstein:
Liechtenstein is a doubly landlocked alpine country in Central Europe and ranks seventh for its press freedom. Liechtenstein certainly fares well and has entered the index for the first time along with Andorra.

New Zealand:
The island country New Zealand takes the eighth place on the Freedom of Press Index. There is limited censorship in New Zealand of political expression, violence or sexual content, although strict libel laws follow the English model and contempt of court is strictly punished.

In 2011 New Zealand was ranked 13th globally in press freedom by Freedom House, with the second freest media in the Asia-Pacific region after Palau.
