The Chicago based company was the second largest U.S. government contractor in 2011, providing a $21.5 billion worth of goods. The manufacturing involves lasers, electro-optical system strategic missile systems and GPS systems. Besides all these technologies, 46 percent of company’s total sales is from arms equipments. Boeing’s silver lining is its commercial airplane manufacture, namely 747, 757, and recently 787 Dreamliner holds the top position in the world market. Boeing holds $1 billion worth of contracts with NASA for its space technology.

3. BAE Systems

Total Sales 2012: $28.3 billion

Total Profit 2012:$2.6 billion

The British company is the largest non-U.S. military contractor. The arms sale of the company is worth $26.9 billion, which accounts for 95 per cent of the company’s total sales. It manufactures L-ROD Bar Armor System that shields defense vehicles and the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer that acknowledges military pilots with simulation training. The company is experiencing severe international conflicts due to the government budget cuts.
