10 Companies Posing Great Threat To Cisco

Aruba Networks:

With Aruba’s shares in Wi-Fi peaking like never before, it’s quiet evident that this company has massive potential within it.  What makes Aruba quiet interesting is the strategy that the company implemented to get hold of the networking sector.

Initially Aruba agreed to tie-up with Cisco where the customers would buy the hardware and Aruba would sell Airwave into these environments to manage the solution. What happened next was simply astonishing as Aruba was all over the 802.11n upgrade cycle and used the Airwave footprint to grab more shares.

Brocade:

Brocade is well-known as the technology leader in Fibre Channel switching for years. They are first ones to introduce 8 Gig FC, 16 and also one of the probables to get 32 Gig as well.  Even when there was a lot of hype around FCoE, Brocade stood firm and kept on delivering faster and better FCs. Maybe because of this stiff and strong strategy, Brocade today holds about two-thirds of the market. As per experts, Brocade is trying to shift their focus onto more sectors such as fabrics and software defined networks (SDNs).
