7. Nancy Brinker

Former CEO, Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Nancy founded the ‘Susan G. Komen for the Cure’, after her 36 years old sister died from breast cancer. She was the CEO of her foundation.

She was named as one of the most influential people in the world in 2008 by Time Magazine. She also received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from president Obama in 2009.

Susan G. Komen announced that it will stop funding breast health programs. This gave rise to lot of criticism for the founder and in order to safeguard the dignity of the organization, Nancy Brinker resigned from the organization.

8. Michael Hervey

Former acting CEO, Long Island Power Authority

Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) provides electric service to over 2 million customers in Nassau and Suffolk counties. They also provide service to the Rockaway Peninsula in Queens.

The Hurricane Sandy that hit Long Island, there has been a number of reports that states the failure of LIPA.

Michael Hervey was the then CEO of LIPA. The failure of the company, the customer’s issues led to the resignation of Michael Hervey.
