Manoj Bhargava, 5-hour Energy

An entrepreneur, philanthropist founder and CEO of 5-hour Energy, Manoj Bhargava joined the Giving Pledge in September 2012. Bhargava's foundations include Knowledge Medical Charitable Trust, Rural India Charitable Trust, and The Hans Foundation. Forty-five percent of profits are given to Rural India. The charities have funded medical research in the United States and over 400 charities in India. Two of the major initiatives are hospitals for the poor and education for disadvantaged women in rural areas.

Ratan Tata, Tata Group

An Indian businessman and former Chairman of multi-billion dollar Tata Group, Ratan Tata contributed 310 crore for the weaker sections of the society, through JRD Tata Trust and Sir Ratan Tata Trust. The Tata trusts controls 66 percent of the shares of Tata Sons and wealth serves for the charity and institutions.

Bill Gates and Melinda Bill Gates, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation  

Bill Gates and Melinda Bill Gates are the founder of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in the world, which was launched in 2000

and is said to be the largest private foundation in the world. Main aims of the foundation are to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology. He had donated US$28 billion to the foundation. And he along with Warren Buffett was responsible for starting Giving Pledge, an effort to get America's wealthiest families to give away at least 50 percent of their wealth during their lifetimes, or upon their deaths.
