Calpe, Spain:  Designed by the Valencia-based architect, Fran Silverstre Arquitectos, the “house on the cliff” is a house built with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is a house built on the natural contours of nature and is divided into four floors to minimize the adjustments to the topography. A swimming pool is set on the lowest level that offers the view of the ocean; the bedroom and kitchen make up the top two floors while the ground floor has a garden. This monolithic, stone-anchored structure is insulated from the outside and covered by flexible and smooth white lime stucco. This cliff house is another one of those places that is a huge hit among tourists.

Pennsylvania, US: “Fallingwater”, as its name might hint, is a house that was designed by the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright that is nestled right on top of a waterfall. Wright originally built the house for his clients, the Kaufmann family; later the house rightfully taken its place as a National Historic Landmark in 1996. Wright was very interested in Japanese architecture and his interest is reflected in this building with his strong emphasis placed on harmony between man and nature. Fallingwater has captured the hearts of many people because of its stunning surrounding and its beautifully decorated interiors. It is considered as Wright’s best piece of architecture and was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in the year 1938.
