Problems that SMEs face in Maharashtra:
There are some major problems that SMEs in Maharashtra face today.
Availability
of land at affordable cost is a problem. Then there is shortage of
manpower.
Maharashtra Government in not so warm & friendly to the
SME investment and there is no major incentive for the industry.
In
Gujarat, CM invites all major association for dinner twice a year &
discuss industry needs. Industry minister is so easy & available.
Work is fast & SME industry is made to feel welcome. They know how
to market Gujarat as an investment destination. Not so in Maharashtra.
Activities undertaken by AIPMA:



  • AIPMA got 200 acre land at Dahej in Gujarat,
    allotted for member units. More in under process.

  • AIPMA is
    working for making skilled manpower available to industry.

  • AIPMA
    is negotiating with banks for affordable finance for members.

  • AIPMA
    creates awareness about positive impact of plastics & created
    awareness that Plastic serves, littering Pollutes.

  • AIPMA takes
    delegations to various International trade shows like K Fair, Germany ,
    Chinaplast , Plastindia.

  • AIPMA organizes Plastivision India, has
    also launched Plastivision Arabia & Kenyaplast. These trade shows
    bring new technology at door step for users & help the market of
    Indian plastic industry.

  • AIPMA is in co-operation with UNIDO
    which is actively engaged in technology up gradation of plastic
    industry.

My Role and Responsibility as a President:
I represent the Indian plastic industry at various Forums in India and
worldwide.I work with various stake holders to realize the growth
potential in industry & attract investment in the industry.
Key achievements of AIPMA:
AIPMA is the first association to take its own trade show abroad &
to have launched Plastivsion Arabia.
Plastivsion India 2011 has 1000
exhibitors from 17 countries and spread over 55000 sq meters &
attracted 73000 visitors. It’s now amongst top 10 plastic trade shows
worldwide.

Key initiatives of AIPMA:
AIPMA acts like catalyst to the growth of Industry.

Firstly, help
the industry with land, finance, man power as well as marketing and
technology.
Secondly, show growth potential to the Industry.
Future plans for 2012:
In 2012, Plastivsion Arabia & Kenyaplast are two new events that
will be launched by AIPMA.

AIPMA is also in the process of
upgrading itself to meet future needs of the plastic industry.
