More about myself
I recently completed a leadership program called Power to Lead which empowers Catholics to sharpen their leadership skills and use their talents to bring about positive changes in and around their place of residence & work.
Important decision
A few important decisions made that have helped me in my life are:
1) Spending time in Prayer - Constant communication with God.
2) Deciding to join Europes Top carrier Lufthansa way back in 1993.
3) My decision to settle down and get married at the age of 35 years.
4) My decision to re locate to Marol Andheri (E)in 2007 after living 39 years in town,
5) My decision to move on from Lufthansa after a tenure of 16 years.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
Our Education system in India is in a pathetic condition on a macro level. All the stake holders & those holding responsible portfolios in Government and Educational Institutions need to sit up and take note of the same. However it seems that no body is bothered & responsible for building & running good quality schools for children living in the thousands of villages in rural regions of India. Due to this children lose the opportunity to go to school,be educated & earn to opportunity to make something of their lives.

Children either do not have the luxury of having schools in their villages or having to walk long distances to attend school. There are few quality teachers, and basic amenities required to run a school are either to a bare minimum or non existent.

Its only children in cities who seem to have an opportunity to be educated . Here too schools are run sometimes more on a commercial basis then to provide education to these children who are the future of our nation.
Degree that I recommend
There are several opportunities in todays world available to our youngsters living in cities. Our youth need to first introspect on what they would really want to make of their lives. What streams they are interested in and a vision for themselves. I am currently 45 years and long away from doing any more educational programs. I however would like to do programs on leadership, making Power Point presentations, business development which would benefit me in my personal and professional life.
My strongest skill
I have very good oral and written communication skills. Years of experience in the Travel field and a very good temperament. I am a team player with a goal to complete and achieve goals well within the deadlines set. I can manage a team of colleagues and and motivate them to be go getters to achieve the set goals.
Ensuring success
I keep updating my self by daily reading, networking, researching online and attending workshops as and when available.
My role model
My Role Model is Jesus Christ. I am doing my best to follow in his footsteps. Jesus came to spread the good news of love, Peace and Joy for all no matter what strata of society they came from. I do not like what the material world has to offer as its made only with selfish intentions. Every one for themselves.

I am trying to move away from this our world philosophy to living for others . I have not been successful so far. But I am working on it. My idea is to spread peace & friendship among all that I meet and interact with.

Peace & Brotherhood rather than hate and violence is what I would want to spread in and our my home and work place and slowly all over.
My family background
I come from a middle class background . I was born and brought up in the locality of Girgaum in Mumbai. I am a Roman Catholic by faith and have received good education for reputed education institutions of St Don Bosco High School Matunga & HR College of Commerce. My parents who are no more since 1995 & 1998 were both working in private companies. I have a younger sister who is now married and settled in Goa.

4) Have qualities of humility, team person & able to delegate & encourage others.
5) Ability to share knowledge, talent and your fortune.
6) Should have a great network of resourceful persons who can help in achievement of the set short and long term visions.
Important lesson learned
1) Life can be hard and frustrating but the learning's from it can be very invaluable and will hold you in good stead for the future.
2) Never say no to challenges and opportunities that may come your way.
3) Never under estimate competition but respect it.
4) Never give up but keep trying even though you may feel the task is impossible to achieve.

Brief description about me
My name is Trevor Almeida . I am a travel professional having 25 years of work experience in the Travel and Aviation Industry. I am married with two lovely sons. I live in Mumbai in a predominated East Indian locality of Marol Andheri(E).
Influenced by
I have been influenced by my mother in my growing years. She was an amazing lady full of compassion love, always willing to help those in need. Never cursing life even though she had to face tough challenges with her legs getting deformed due to rheumatoid arthritis when she was just 45 yrs.

She had a deep faith in God and had just one goal to bring up her children and continue working even though her legs were knees were deformed and she could barely walk properly.

Jesus & Mother Mary have always been my guides and protectors. Prayer was an important part of our life and I can say with confidence and pride that what ever I have achieved is because of prayer and the blessings of the almighty.
Initiative to develop a country
Why are we talking of professionals are they running the country. We should be talking of those in power and our politicians and bureaucrats.
I will comment from their point of view.
1) Let all the politicians and those in power put the country in front of their personal interests.
2) Let them abstain from looting the country of our resources and wealth and filling their coffers.
3) Let them make note of all the demands and recommendations that are lying and gathering dusts in files at their offices.
4) let them use these recommendations and announce to the country the implementation of the same with time bound deadlines.

Even if we can even have 25 % of all our politicians and those in power doing what I have mentioned India which is already on road to be a developed country will be racing in the next 5 years.
My achievements
To be honest I do not have any achievements to share that would interest your readers.

I am working towards sparing some time in my busy schedule of work to reach out and help the less privileged and volunteer with an NGO if possible.
Couple of years from now
I have my short term goal to be a General Manager with a Top MNC in the next 2-3 years and a Director of a Top MNC between 2016 - 2018.
