The Decisions That Matter
I started my career with low profile small company. My starting salary was 13000 which is nothing in today's world. But I worked very hard and listened to my instincts and learned a lot. I believed work should speak about yourself rather than your mouth. Due to which today I am in VMware :)
Other Thoughts:
Believe in yourself and god. I was kicked out of Infosys placement drive because I do not have 60% +2, have 75% in degree. I cursed myself and god but that's best thing happened to me. Otherwise today I would have not been in VMware.
Growth Strategy:
Keep on learning. The day when you on think you know everything, you have put a full stop in your growth.
Working Life Management:
Its very simple. Start working as you are doing your own work/business. This way you will not keep things pending and will get time for yourself and family.
Degrees That Matter:
I will recommend you to do certification related to your interest and profile. Which will help you to build your profile and salary too :)
Role Model:
My role model is an "Ant". Ant has never say die attitude and keeps on working.
Advice For New Professionals:
Always learn and do work honestly. Never try to do so called "jugad" with your career.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
I was awarded with "Star Rookie of the year" award for my first year of professional career.
Required Reading:
"Lead without a title" by Robin Sharma. Subscribe to any good magazine which can keep you up to date with new technology in the market.
Done Differently:
I would have done all things to learn and add to my wisdom rather than doing for the sake of doing it.
The Journey So Far:
It is like having a ride of roller coaster. Up, down, slow, fast with full of entertainment and fear too.
