The Journey : Early Days to How I Got Here
I started my career as a Software Developer at Apple Publishing Centre
and then changed the domain to Software Testing. I really enjoyed
working in Software Testing domain so much that I never looked back.
Currently, I am working as Test Manager at GlobalLogic.

My first
testing project was on H323, VoIP and SIP Protocol in one of the Product
Company & my development background helped me a lot during testing
assignment. I have worked on several projects on multiple platforms and
domain which includes Ecommerce, billing solution, logistic control
platform, Mobile & health care.

My expertise lies in Test
Management, Project Management, Quality Control, Agile Methodology,
Scrum Master, Mobile Application Testing and Quality Assurance.
Two Years Down the Line
I am doing my M.S in Quality Management Systems and planning to work as
consultant in Quality Assurance, Project Management & Analyst to
leverage my knowledge in software industry and process improvement
practices. This will take at least 4 to 5 years from now.
What I Learnt Along the Way
Important lessons that I have learnt from my profession is that one
should be ready to learn new technologies and adapt to work in rapidly
changing business environment and always be hands on with technology and
keep adding domain knowledge.
Changing Days: Lessons Learnt
I started as developer and moved into software testing. Today, I am
working in the capacity of QA Manager which requires me to spend time on
people management, customer interaction, Improvement in Process &
Analysis, Imparting knowledge and do R & D in some or the other
technical areas.
Trends to Watch Out For
Technology is changing rapidly and I see lot of potential in Ecommerce,
BFSI, healthcare and Mobile application domain, Network & Security
& Performance.
My Advice If You are Starting Out
I would suggest the person to read the articles, books on Software
testing and some basic course on Software testing to understand and
develop the testing concepts.
Must Focus Areas For the Future
Some of the Areas of Specializations are Banking & Finance, Health
Care, Telecom, Social Networking, and Security & Performance, Cloud.
Do We Need Certifications?
I have done some of the certification during my professional career. CSM
certification is one of them done (Certified Scrum Master) and it
helped me executing the Agile Project in better way. Tester at initial
stage can start with CSTE (Certified Software test Engineer) or ISTQB.
