More about myself
I find siliconindia.com very informative. Articles posted are unbiased and contents are good. I am really thankful to be connected with this. I get updated articles on various topics regularly.
Important decision
I was responsible for preparing the field development plan (FDP) and setting the development and production target for producing 300,000 b/d oil while working in North Africa. This plateau production rate was maintained for three years.
Qualities needed to become a successful leader
Important think in successful leader is to realize the strength of the team, must understand the risk and uncertainty of the business and also contemplate mitigation plan.It is better to be vaguely correct than to be precisely wrong.
Ensuring success
Regular updation on new technology and improving the understanding of the oil and gas business.
Brief description about me
I am currently working as Custodian Reservoir Engineering in a major Oil and Gas Company. I have nearly three decades experience in oil and gas industry. My responsibilities are as follows;

 Responsibilities include setting the technical direction and providing advice to Company’s Management on all technical matters concerning reservoir engineering, production optimization and integrated reservoir management, including quality control on technical soundness on FDP studies, IOR/EOR studies and unconventional gas resources viz CBM and Shale gas.

 Monitor philosophies, principles and technology applications currently being practiced for reservoir surveillance/management, field development and asset acquisitions.

 Identify areas for improvement, introduce new technology application opportunities, develop and lead identifies corrective actions with the objective of increasing reserve recovery.
My family background
I was born in rural India where 24 hours electricity supply, roads, good schools and health services are still found in dreams. But my parents realized the value of education which can provide vertical mobility. Therefore, acquiring education and becoming good human being was the parental lessons for me since childhood.
Degree that I recommend
I have Ph D degree and working since last three decades in Oil and gas sector. I find reading books which I could not do earlier would be right thing for me at this stage.
Couple of years from now
I am holding senior technical position of the discipline. I think I will continue with this.
Thoughts on Education system of our country
Education system in India is good and bad both. Good for urban system where good schools and facilities are available and for rural area where at many places still primitive. Less creative. More bookish and dogmatic.
My role model
No specific role model. Those who made place in every field of life despite all the adversatities like NS Murthy, M S Dhoni, Kapil Dev, M M Malviya, M K Gandhi, Einstein etc
My achievements
I am modest in claiming the achievements. I consider my working North Africa good as I imparted knowledge in the university while working in in the industry despite very busy schedule. I find it as a positive contribution to the society.
My strongest skill
My strong points are Oil and gas field development and management. Also Improved and Enhanced oil recovery.
Influenced by
My professors in the university and Prof O P Malaviya whose guidance created interest in reading and transforming into an rationale way of thinking.
Important lesson learned
My biggest lesson learnt is that for a average persons with meager resources, it is education which can bring him/her up in the society and can also provide substance to the life.
Initiative to develop a country
Honesty, sincerity and team work. Indians are good individually but mostly failure as as a team. We see extremes in India. Somehow we lack in acknowledging the contributions from others and this attitude creates professional insecurity and leads to all sorts of the problem.
