Could you tell us briefly about your family background?
I am from a Middle class family. My Father was an accountant with a Construction company, before he started his own Business. I too started my Career working for corporates, but down the line, go into Business, which was never planned for.
Growth Strategy:
In today's competitive Corporate Environment, one has to be ahead of the others, and be a Pioneer in whatever one does to be able to survive, leading is another story. By the Grace of God, I have always been a Pioneer in whatever I have done, whether it was DelhiNet or ZenFinancial.
Plans For The Future:
I see myself a step or a few steps up in life, from wherever I am today. This is what life is all about. One does make mistakes in life, and one learns from them, and with every mistake one surely goes down one step or two, but at the end, one is always a step above where one was.
Role Model:
My Role Models have been my various Bosses, under whom I have worked before I started on my own ... each one of them has been a Role Model, and has been instrumental in helping me move ahead and up in life. Without the support and push of my Bosses, I would have surely not been where I am today.
Other Thoughts:
I started on my own in 1988 with Mohindra Software, developed TOPWARE, the 1st Standard Financial Accounting Software in India. In 1997 I started DelhiNet, which brought in Domain Based Websites into India. In 2002 I started ZenFinancial, which pioneered Mortgage Lead Generation into India.
Done Differently:
For obvious, I would correct the mistakes which I made in my Career, and I am sure, everyone makes a few mistakes, and that is what life is all about.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
For sure, the world has changed since I started my Career ... when I started my career at IDM, we used to work on Mainframes. IBM PCs came into India in 1986 or so, and changed the way people work. Mobiles came in and changed a lot more. And now, I am sure Tablets will change the way people work.
