Could you tell us briefly about your family background?

I am from very well educated and settled family from Delhi, India. My sisters all are either engineers or doctors. I am one of the engineers among them. My parents are post graduates and working in Delhi. Myself I am working currently in Cummins Inc. in USA Columbus office from last 1 year.

Advice For New Professionals:

Have a good networking around you and talk to as many as people you can for career opportunities, it is never harmful to ask somebody for knowledge or for information. Keep yourself open to listen views and suggestions and do what you think is good for your career and future path.

The Journey So Far:

Its great till now. You need to be very careful with your communication, thoughts to be shared, handling with documents, taking the things not easy, be responsive and know your responsiblity for your part of work. Careful while stepping in somebody else's work plan or objectives.

Changes In The Professional Environment:

Its more kind of mature, responsible, understanding, patientful and reaction to the issues.

Working Life Management:

Its hard to do that because when you have deadline for releasing the product or do any design reviews in few days, you cannot able to balance it. But still try to do and complete my office stuff between 7am-6pm in office and when return home, do not look into office stuff and do not discuss it.

The Decisions That Matter

Moving away from Family and taking risk to deviate from your major specialization

I am not sure many websites for India career prospectives but definitely, I can recommend some good websites for US jobs and career: Indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, applying directly to big companies websites i.e GE, Cummins, Microsoft etc.. is always far better than applying them from outside sites

Growth Strategy:

Consistency in your dedication, responsible, stay alert, update your skills with latest information, excellent Communication

Degrees That Matter:

It is always good to get the higher education degree at a stretch, rather work for sometime and go back to school. It is hard to get the same interest as you have in consistent education after undergrad and then grad school. Try to have atleast undergraduate and if possible graduate degree-MS/M.Tech

Prized Accomplishment(s):

My knowledge and critical thinking for any any idea that comes suddenly to my mind whenever I have something in my front and that is not good design specifically.

Job Profile:

Design Engineer- currently - Brainstorming design ideas, calculations for parts design, system level integration, Managing interns to give them proper work objectives so that they learn something from them. Pro-e work design, Analysis stuff, Failure mode resolve, design reviews etc..

Role Model:

My mom (for her hard ships and hardwork) and myself (Fight alot in my life to achieve good education, school, job and family) and currently, I have satisfied life with a good job with 6 figures salary per month and family with nice husband

Other Thoughts:

Just do not loose hope anytime when searching for jobs, keep applying and make as much as network you can to get more contacts for career and jobs
