Bangalore: Ten Indian American researchers were recently honoured with the Sloan Research fellowship for the year 2012.The programme, Sloan Research fellowship which gives support and acknowledgement to early-career scientists and scholars  was established in 1955.

“Today’s Sloan Research Fellows are tomorrow’s Nobel Prize winners,” said Dr. Paul L. Joskow, President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. “These outstanding men and women are responsible for some of the most exciting science being done today. The Foundation is proud to support them during this pivotal stage of their careers.”

Below enlisted are the ten researchers of Indian origin who received the 2012 Sloan Research Fellowship and have made India proud-

1. Neil K. Garg

Garg is currently working as the professor of chemistry and biochemistry at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). His research is intended towards the development of synthetic strategies and techniques as well as the synthesis of bioactive molecules. He mainly concentrates on areas such as asymmetric catalysis, organometallic transformations, heterocycle synthesis, umpolung reactions, and cascade processes. He received his PhD from California Institute of Technology in the year 2005 and did training as an NIH postdoctoral scholar at the University of California.

2. Tulika Bose

Bose is presently the assistant Professor, Physics department at Boston University. She was appointed as the post-doctoral research associate at Brown University where she focused on two experiments, DO experiment and CMS experiment based on self research. She received her PhD from Columbia University in Experimental Particle Physics and graduation in Natural Science Tripos from Cambridge University.
