U.S Spy Agency Monitoring Messages, Emails In India: Report

Earlier, NSA implemented a programme called PRISM to access data generated by users of nine U.S based technology companies. According to the leaked information by an NSA official, nine technology companies; Google, AOL, Apple, Yahoo, Microsoft, Skype, Facebook, YouTube and PalTalk were offering the U.S government easy access to user data.

Interestingly, all the nine companies have denied being part of PRISM. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Larry Page denied giving direct access to user data to U.S sleuths.

In contrast, U.S President Barack Obama acknowledged NSA surveillance programmes aimed at non-US citizens. He said, “You can't have a hundred percent security and also then have a hundred percent privacy and zero inconvenience. You know, we're going to have to make some choices as a society."

Instead of actual content of emails or calls, the U.K newspaper on its report on Boundless Informant noted that the focus was on meta data.
