Mistry Hires Technocrat To Head Tech For The $100 Billion Empire


BANGALORE: Tata Group, which is a hub of innovation and known as India’s most valuable brand is in the hunt for top notch talent. And the latest one to join the bandwagon of this $100 billion empire is one of the world's well-known technocrats Gopichand Katragadda, reports TNN.

Right after taking over the reins as the Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry, has been in the process of recruiting some best talent to steer his company through with top-notch innovation. And within that process the company has tapped on best technocrat Gopichand Katragadda, who was former GE India Technology Centre's managing director and closely known to be the master of innovation to join the Tata Sons.

Apart from being a consultant, professor and author, Katragadda also serves on the advisory board of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. The Iowa State University electrical engineering and PhD graduate has more than 30 publications and five patents to his credit. Following this the company hopes that his experience and innovation will drive the future of crucial sectors in the company’s assortment.

As Tata Group is one of the top spenders on R&D, Katragadda is set to provide more assistance in research and development, leveraging cross-company synergies and creating technology strategies on innovation across group companies.

Although Katragadda has not been formal announcement, sources within the Tata Group has revealed that Katragadda is set to make his presence from 3rd of August this year.
