Microsoft Starts Taking Orders For Windows 8

Bangalore: Finally, the good news for die-hard Windows fans is here. Microsoft has started accepting orders for its latest Windows 8 operating system. However, the revamped OS will not be delivered until October 26.

People who run an earlier version of Windows can upgrade to the new one starting from $14.99 to $39.99. The exclusive low price is offered for people who bought a Windows 7 powered system on or after June 2. For others, the upgrade will come at a higher price. The low price upgrade offer for Windows 7 users will end on January 31.

After releasing a consumer preview in February, Microsoft had completed the development and started distributing the OS to computer manufactures earlier this month.

The company will also begin to sell its first ever tablet, the Surface, which runs on the mobile version of Windows8 on the same day of O.S release.

The revamped O.S which targets both PCs and Tablets is said to be one of the most ambitious release from Microsoft in years. The preview of O.S had invited both positive and negative reviews from the tech world.
