Google has been criticized by the anti trust authorities in Europe for manipulating the unpaid algorithmic search results. The US government has also pointed out Google’s tendency to favor certain firms by bringing their links on top when a generic search is run. “Google abandoned these core principles when they started interfering with profit growth.  Today, Google doesn’t play fair.  Google rigs its results, biasing in favor of Google Shopping and against competitors like us,” said Nextag in its testimony against Google before Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy & Consumer Rights.
