Watch Out Google, Bing is Eating You

Bangalore: Microsoft’s IE might have lost out to Google’s Chrome in the Browser wars. But when it comes to Search engine, Microsoft is prepared to take down Google and as first clear evidence, its Bing now accounts for 30 percent of the U.S. web searches, according to the latest Experian Hitwise report.

The entire Bing- powered search, including Yahoo and other websites accounted for 30.01 percent in April and is rising at the rate of six percent, month-over-month. Google, the market leader is losing the monopoly in search market. Its market lead declined from 66.69 percent to 64.42 percent, which is an 11 percent decrease from the same period last year.

Microsoft on last week had previewed a new version of its “socialized” search engine Bing, which integrated Facebook and Twitter to its new ‘Social Sidebar,’ but avoided Google+. According to Microsoft, Bing update will introduce “a better way to search,” incorporating personal search results into the search engine’s algorithm. The results will appear in a panel on the side of the page. This includes “friends might know,” “people who know,” and related activity on Facebook. The updates will be coming later this year.  Google had earlier integrated the Google+ results to its search.

Microsoft will have to wait a bit to know the effects of its social integration, but until then, watch out Google, its coming at you faster than you expect.
