BENGALURU: Closer analysis reveals that drones epitomize the pinnacle of generation shift in the aviation industry, with the educational background and technical know-how being totally different from what it was just a few years ago. We are entering a new age of aviation, not just a phase, where drones are trendy. The unforeseen beneficiaries of this age shift will be those who embrace the choice to challenge the subsistence—adapt to new ideas. With the government setting rules for the commercial use of drones, a variety of industries are planning to use this lightweight, unmanned aircrafts for business purposes. This is going to create a big economic impetus, creating thousands of jobs for drone operators, data analysts, mechanics and others. Just as in military applications, surveillance is going to be drones’ primary use. With the evolution of drones and improvements in technology, drones will carry payloads they can deliver (packages and pizza) and distribute (pesticides and fire retardant).

The use of drones in several areas will come with several restrictions. Expect limits on who can fly drones, how many are allowed to fly in certain areas, the altitude at which they can fly and, the time of day they can operate.
