Lenovo CEO Ready To Buy BlackBerry

Bangalore: There is a possibility for Lenovo to buy BlackBerry as the company’s Chief Executive, Yang Yuanqing told a French Newspaper that he is open to the deal of buying the beleaguered Smartphone maker.

According to the CEO, buying BlackBerry would make sense but there was a need to analyze the market and understand the company’s importance, as reported by a French Publication, Les Echos. Recently, comments have sparked a 14.1 percent rise in BlackBerry’s stock from $1.84 to $14.90.

Previously Chief Financial Officer Wong Mai Ming was also looking out for opportunities to acquire BlackBerry. He had stated that if it was a good opportunity then proceeding with it would not be a matter at all.

BlackBerry which is in the middle of staging its new, recently unveiled BlackBerry Z10 will soon be on sale in the U.S.

The company has been facing stiff competition from Android, iOS as well as Microsoft’s Windows 8 platform. It still shows no guarantees on success, even with the next generation Smartphone out in the market. But Lenovo purchasing BlackBerry seems like a good opportunity in a world where PC’s are almost being replaced with mobiles.
