Google Reveals the Secrets to Future Of Search

Bangalore: Google singlehandedly took the operation “search” from being just a keyword to something that brings you anything. Through the years, Google search has integrated many things into itself, ranging from picture searches to voice searches. So when somebody talks about the future of “search,” there is no reason to think outside this company which processes about 100 billion searches a month.

In its recent presentation to media about the future of web search, Google admitted one thing- it will look like Apple’s famous Siri. "If we are going to build the search of the future, we will have to solve difficult technology issues like speech recognition and natural language," said the company. The future will not be about simply finding the potential answers to searches, it will be figuring out the questions posed by users and provide them with what is needed.

The future search will be based on context, not the queries. Google recently embedded knowledge graph- a database of more than 500 million real-world people, places and things with 3.5 billion attributes and connections among them- into its search. It will directly give you the answers for your query instead of a long list of results.

The company had also released its Siri like voice based question and answer service to android, which claims to make search, an easier task. The iOS version of the same is expected to be released in a couple of days. The similarity of the app to Siri may create a problem for approval by Apple. Apple had previously decided to drop several of Google’s services from its upcoming operating system.

In order to make the search even “universal," Google now also offers a function which will display even the related contents from your Gmail, as a result to your search.

Let’s wait and see, how these modifications really going to change the future of search.
