Google Introduces Hindi Input App For Android Users

Bangalore: Google has released its new Hindi input app that supports transliteration for Android users. This new app is said to let users type messages, update social networks and even compose emails in Hindi. Users can convert English words into Hindi by simply typing Hindi words in English characters.

Users can download the app from Google Play store and install it as a default keyboard on devices running Android 2.2 or later versions. The app is said to work with phones that support Devanagari script.

Users can use the toggle button on the English keyboard to turn the transliteration mode on and off. The transliteration mode helps in typing a Hindi word with English characters, and the app will convert it to Hindi. When the transliteration mode is off, you can type in English.

The new app also offers transliteration tools for Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Bangla and Marathi.
