Facebook And Yahoo Is In Love Again; Twitter Hurt

Bangalore: Finally, Yahoo and Facebook have reached a strategic deal as part of a final settlement of their patent infringement lawsuits. The duo had planned to strengthen their relationship which is surely going to hurt one guy- None other than Twitter.

The agreement will include a major expansion of their ongoing partnership, including a joint advertising sales effort, as well as cross-licensing of some key patents between the two companies. Yahoo and Facebook will also work together to bring Yahoo’s large media event coverage to Facebook users by collaborating on social integrations on the Yahoo site.

So you will be wondering, how all this is going to affect Twitter. Well, Twitter has earlier made coverage of big, live events like Nascar races and Pepsi's summer concert series as a foundation of its plan to attract large numbers of new users and also to get money from big advertisers.

Facebook provides no options to find out what’s happening in the real world. It is a social network where people gather to find out what's going on with their friends.

Facebook has taken steps to increase the visibility of world to its users by letting them subscribe to famous people's profiles rather than requiring a mutual friend approval. But the social network still lacks a dedicated way to highlight people's reactions to live events. But this is not the case with Twitter. It spontaneously highlights people’s reactions. Also Facebook's search engine lags a little behind Twitter as a result of twitters recent updates. Here comes the role of Yahoo.

Yahoo is going to help Facebook as the portal is still a big destination for people who want to know what is happening in the world, includingsports information and other news. This is exactly from where Facebook wants a bite- From this kind of happening-now events. Facebook brings the social element that advertisers are increasingly looking for. It's not clear exactly how they'll put those pieces together and sell them, but that's what the two companies agreed to do.

And it's clear that Twitter, whichconsiders of itself as a social-powered media company, will collide with Yahoo and Facebook within no time.
