Bangalore: Online booking of tickets made life easier and comfortable. The success of any online ticket booking portal depends on the speed with which users can book a ticket. But today as the demand for online tickets increased, the traffic to ticket booking sites have also surged. As means to tackle such heavy traffic, most of the online booking portals started relying on cloud technology, as reported by Information week.

“In our setup of dedicated severs, handling sudden spike in traffic in the website was a problem. To tackle this problem, new servers had to be added and this was time consuming. Additionally, sizing the servers based on current traffic was also a challenge,” said Karthi Easwaramoorthy, Co-founder and President, TicketGoose.

The Online bus ticket portal ‘TicketGoose’ has recently started using cloud to tackle the huge traffic in its website. Earlier, the firm depended on various IT services like web servers, database servers, monitoring and backup tool and software components.
