Apparently, People Don't Like Big Screen Androids


Bangalore: Contrary to the common belief that big screened Android mobile is hot favorite with consumers, the latest survey by Google states that only 10 percent of the big screen mobiles run on Android mobile platform.

The survey which was carried out for 14 days, ending on May 1, was based on users accessing the Google Play app market, and it found out that, 80 percent of the devices fit in “Normal” screen size category which is about 4 inches.

The handsets with 3.5 inches or less constitute about 9.8 percent; large screen sizes about 4 to 7 inches constitute for 5.6 percent and the larger devices with 7 to more than 10 inches constitute for 4.9 percent.

Lately there was buzz about Apple joining the big screen brigade too, but if the latest stats from Google is considered, the phones like iPhone 5 (4 inch), iPhone 3GS (3.5 inch) are still quite popular with the consumers.
