Amazon's iPad Killer, Kindle Fire 2 May Come On Sept 6

Bangalore: Amazon, the world’s largest retailer had send out an invitation for a press conference on September 6, which could possibly be the debut of its next generation iPad killer Kindle 2.

The company has not revealed its agenda, but considering the event being organized by Kindle department, the only thing left to know is whether it’s going to be a 7-inch Kindle Fire tablet or 10-inch or both.

“There have been a lot of rumors about another potential Kindle tablet. The existing Kindle Fire is due for an update given Google’s new tablet,” said Pete Finalle, a tablet analyst at Frost & Sullivan.“The hardware could use a refresh.”

Amazon’s first tablet came out in September 2011, which gained immediate popularity and even threatened iPad. Since then there’s been rumors about Amazon developing a bigger tablet code named “Hollywood,” to compete directly with the iPad.

Apple Inc. is also organizing a major event on September 12, which many expect could be the unveiling of new iPhone and a smaller sized tablet.
