Zoho to Launch Consumer Payments App Zoho Pay
  • Introducing Zoho Pay, a consumer payments app integrated with chat platform Arattai
  • Plans to expand fintech offerings beyond payments to lending, insurance, and wealthtech
  • Zoho Pay aims for seamless, secure transactions within chat and as a standalone app

Chennai based SaaS giant Zoho is set to enter the consumer payments space with Zoho Pay, a new app designed to enable users to send money, make secure payments, and complete transactions smoothly. The app will be available both as a standalone service and embedded within Zoho’s chat platform, Arattai.

This move marks Zoho’s deeper push into fintech, complementing its existing business payment and point-of-sale solutions. Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, CEO of Zoho Payments Tech, shared that Zoho Pay offers a secure, integrated payment experience, allowing users to transact without leaving their chat conversations.

Launched in 2021, Arattai is Zoho’s privacy-focused chat and collaboration app, which has grown to include group chats, video calls, and file sharing. Integrating payments directly into Arattai aims to help both consumers and small businesses transact easily within their daily conversations.

Zoho plans to expand its fintech portfolio beyond payments and POS devices into areas like lending, broking, insurance, and wealthtech. Their approach is gradual, focusing on organic growth while building a comprehensive financial services ecosystem.

Currently in internal testing, Zoho Pay will roll out in phases over the next few months, aiming to serve both individual users and small businesses efficiently.
