Kiran Nadkarni founded the organized Indian quick service restaurants chain called Kaatizone. KaatiZone is a Bangalore-based chain of Indian fast-food restaurants specializing in Kati Rolls - a filling rolled in a roti or naan. As the IT sector in India has boomed, the demand for convenience foods has increased drastically and KaatiZone has come up to cater to the need of the ever so busy IT professionals.
In 2010 the chain developed a store template with simplified operations and a focus on takeaway. Nadkarni says, “We can set up an outlet in four weeks flat. Depending on the location a franchisee can recover costs within 20 months.” A simple idea of a fast food chain evolved into the business model of the KaatiZone, as we know it today timely and tasty.
