SaaS-driven company Freshworks ropes Murali Swaminathan as CTO

On Tuesday, Freshworks, a SaaS giant based in the US declared that Murali Swaminathan has been assigned as its freshly minted chief technology officer (CTO).

According to the company's statement, Murali will head the global engineering and architecture teams as CTO of Freshworks. He will be accountable for devising and implementing their technology roadmap and strategy.

This role is responsible for strengthening the company's commitment to investing in talent and resources, thereby enhancing our solutions for employee and customer experiences.

Murali has been appointed to the executive management team and will be accountable to Dennis Woodside, the Chief Executive Officer and President.

Murali Swaminathan earned a bachelor's degree in electronics and instrumentation from Annamalai University, India, and later pursued a master's degree in Software Engineering Management at Carnegie Mellon University.

With a professional career spanning over three decades, he possesses extensive expertise in software engineering and managerial roles.

Murali was previously employed at ServiceNow, where he held the position of Vice President of Engineering. He managed the company's highly sought-after portfolio of IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management products designed for larger corporations prior to joining Freshworks.

While serving at ServiceNow, he played a critical role in constructing the advanced application framework that forms the basis of the organization's IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management offerings.

Before joining ServiceNow, Murali worked as the Vice President of Engineering for Recommind (which is now OpenText). He also occupied important roles at CA Technologies (presently a part of Broadcom Inc.), where he was crucial in promoting the firm's enterprise software solutions.
