Qubecell Raises Seed Funding From Kae Capital


Bangalore: Spunk Media, the Mumbai based company which runs the online mobile billing aggregator Qubecell, has raised seed funding of an undisclosed amount. As per the reports, the funding took place in December last year. The round was led by Kae Capital, and other investors from Mumbai Angels, Blume Ventures and a Russian investor TA Ventures also participated in it, reports MediaNama.

Founded it 2012 by Ranjan Reddy, who acts as Director at Qubecell, it integrates with telecom operators in India for mobile payment service through carrier billing. The company caters its services to app developers and mobile publishers and provides its client with analysis report on device, browser, network, location, historical behavior of mobile users which help them in taking decisions about pricing, content and marketing.

The company is in plans to expand its business across India and abroad, and it also looks at enhancing its technology. Reddy said, “We will be focusing on markets with characteristics similar to that of India – android and mobile heavy markets. Right now we are concentrating on expansion in India, by next year we will look at markets in Middle East, South Africa, Southeast Asia and maybe even (parts of) Europe,” as reported in iamwire.

There are other players in the market that cater the same service as Qubecell, these include InMobi’s Smartpay; Opera; Mobile VAS Company, Tanla; Billdesk and others.
