Pocket FM Appoints Suyog Gothi as VP and India Operations Head
Pocket FM has named Suyog Gothi as Vice President and India Country Head on January 9, as the Bengaluru-headquartered startup endeavors to strengthen its leadership cadre for upcoming growth. In his fresh position, Gothi will spearhead the company's operations in India, working closely with co-founders Rohan Nayak and Nishanth KS, as per a statement issued by Pocket FM. His responsibilities will encompass supervising operations in India, executing strategic plans to enhance Pocket FM's foothold in the country, and focusing on enlarging the startup's user and writer community nationwide.
IIT-Madras alumnus Gothi, previously associated with PhonePe, where he led the digital payments firm's merchant lending division, has now joined Pocket FM. Across his nearly seven-year tenure at PhonePe, Gothi held diverse roles, contributing to the expansion of PhonePe's UPI payments business. Before his stint at PhonePe, he gained professional experience at RoadRunnr and Flipkart. Nishanth KS, co-founder of Pocket FM, expressed optimism about Gothi's capabilities, affirming, "His established accomplishments and forward-looking approach align with our aspirations for growth and innovation. We are confident that Suyog will have a pivotal role in enhancing Pocket FM's success in India".
Over the past year, Pocket FM has strengthened its leadership roster through notable appointments. This includes bringing on board former Netflix executive Pannagadatta K. Shivaswamy to lead the company's artificial intelligence initiatives. Additionally, the company hired Subeer Bakshi, a former PhonePe executive, as the Head of People and Culture, and enlisted Vivek Bhutyani from Vedantu as the VP-Content Marketing. Furthermore, Pocket FM welcomed former Meta executive Niteesh Yadav to serve as the director of design.
