PayNearby Introduces Health Correspondents Initiative to Provide Rural Regions Affordable Healthcare
PayNearby, a leading digital financial services platform, has introduced the Health Correspondents Program, a novel initiative to provide accessible and affordable healthcare services to India’s vulnerable and last-mile population. Through its extensive retail network, including kirana stores, mobile recharge stores, medical shops, customer service points, and travel agents, PayNearby aims to bridge the gap between urban and rural healthcare services.
The Health Correspondents Program utilises healthcare correspondents as intermediaries to connect healthcare providers with rural communities. These correspondents will play a vital role in promoting healthcare-related products and services, including health cards offering discounts on medicines, medical tests, telemedicine consultations, and tailor-made healthcare insurance schemes.
PayNearby plans to recruit healthcare correspondents nationwide, leveraging existing infrastructure such as gram panchayats. The company envisions converting at least one lakh of its active retailers into healthcare correspondents by the fiscal year 2023-24.
Anand Bajaj, Founder, MD, and CEO of PayNearby, expressed his vision for the Health Correspondents Program, stating, “By introducing Health Correspondents Program in our portfolio, we seek to bridge the gap between urban and rural healthcare services, enabling citizens in Bharat to access all the necessary facilities available to their urban counterparts.”
By offering affordable healthcare solutions through its extensive retail network, PayNearby strives to enhance the lives of millions in rural India, fostering a healthier and more inclusive society.
