Mathew George joins B2B Startup Captain Fresh as Group CFO
B2B fish and seafood supply chain startup, Captain Fresh has roped Mathew George as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He will start his operation in this new post from May 17, 2024. Mathew George is an experienced corporate finance professional who has three decades of experience across diverse global markets, including the US, Europe, India, Dubai, and Nigeria.
Before joining Captain Fresh, Mathew George was working as Group CFO at Medi Assist Health Care Services. Throughout his working tenure, he led multiple successful mergers and acquisitions (M&As) which helped the company consolidate its position as a market leader. 
He efficiently manages the company’s recent initial public offering (IPO) which was oversubscribed by 14.3 times. Mathew has been appointed in various leadership roles in multiple renowned companies, including Jumbo Electronics, HCL Technologies, Cognizant Technologies, Accenture, GE Capital, and Genpact.
The joining of Mathew George will bring financial excellence for Captain Fresh as the company is targeting to expand globally. He holds immense experience in partnering with promoters and private equity investors to develop robust corporate structures that ensure compliance, tax efficiency, profitability, and growth.

Till date, the startup, Captain Fresh has raised over $160 million in a series of funding rounds and recently acquired US-based frozen fish and seafood importer and distributor CenSea Inc. The company’s gross revenue jumped up 3.7 times year-on-year (YoY) to 773 crore in FY23 from 208 crore in FY22.
