Therefore, I announce that Invest India will pioneer a dedicated helpdesk for startups. It will act like a bridge and can work across ministries to sort out queries which startups may have.”
On being asked about the role of the The National Startup Advisory Council, he added “I believe the advisory council will act as a bridge between policy makers and startups, so that on a real time basis we can act to support startups to succeed. It's a body for the startups, and will work relentlessly to help them government and policy makers to act accordingly to the needs of the startups.”
On the relevance of Ease of Doing Business scores (which are done by the World Bank) for SMEs, Mid size companies and startups, Piyush Goyal commented “We’ve had state level rankings and now will go at district level to rank different stakeholders and our ministry is working in close coordination with policy makers to ensure on-the -ground the impact is felt by entrepreneurs, startups and small business.”
He ended his conversation by making an appeal to all Indian business people to contribute to early stage startups which are not getting enough capital. He requested them to create a focused fund for example a
10000 cr fund which will be professionally run and managed devoid of all Government interference.
