IIT-Madras Launches Platform for Accelerator & Incubator Information
IIT Madras Centre for Research on Start-ups and Risk Financing (CREST) has pioneered India's inaugural information platform concerning incubators and accelerators. This collaborative venture with YNOS, a start-up born from IIT Madras, aims to offer extensive details on these entities. The platform aims to assist start-ups in maneuvering through the unpredictable entrepreneurial landscape by providing comprehensive information on incubators and accelerators thus serving a crucial role.
According to a statement from IIT Madras, prior to this development, India had around 1,000 active incubators, but information about them was fragmented and not easily accessible from a single source. The institute highlighted that entrepreneurs previously faced challenges in dedicating significant time and effort to locate the most suitable incubator for their start-up. The newly introduced platform aims to alleviate this issue by enabling start-up founders to efficiently identify, compare, and evaluate different incubators, ultimately aiding them in selecting the one that aligns best with their needs.
The incubator platform, created using advanced technological tools, swiftly assesses the landscape of incubators and accelerators in India. It incorporates user-friendly filters based on various incubator parameters, enabling a rapid identification of a selection of incubators meeting diverse criteria for consideration. Additionally, the platform offers the convenience of bookmarking chosen incubators for a more thorough evaluation in the future.
