“Birla House” – Ghanshyam Das Birla lived here

Birla house is also known as the Birla Bhavan and is located in at 5 Tees January Marg, a couple of kilometers from the Connaught Place, one of the CBDs of New Delhi. It is now a museum dedicated to Mahatma known as ‘Gandhi Smriti.’ Birla house is known to be a place where Gandhi spent his last 144 days. He was also assassinated around the premises on January 30 1948. This house was a place where industrialist Ghanshyam Das Birla lived his life. It was acquired by the Government of India as it was very closely associated to Mahatma Gandhi.
