Chiratae Ventures Launches Rapid-Funding DeepTech Program 'Sonic'

Chiratae Ventures has unveiled Sonic DeepTech, a new fast-track funding program designed to support early-stage founders working on frontier technologies. The initiative aims to accelerate capital deployment for startups from seed to Series A, offering cheques of up to $2 million per company.

The program targets high-impact sectors such as energy and climate tech, quantum technologies, robotics and advanced manufacturing, space tech, applied AI and ML, defence, medtech, biotech, and the broader digital economy. Chiratae said Sonic DeepTech is built to cut down the usual waiting time for funding, with investment decisions expected within 48 hours of evaluation.

Along with capital, startups selected for the program will gain access to Chiratae’s network of domain experts, industry partners, and ecosystem collaborators who can help guide products from lab development to real-world deployment.

Chiratae has already invested more than $200 million in over 50 deeptech startups. Its portfolio includes notable companies such as Pixis, Miko, Agnikul, Aether Biomedical, Pando.ai, Cavli Wireless, Sigtuple, HealthifyMe, and Metadome.ai. These firms span areas like AI, robotics, spacetech, supply chain software, wireless infrastructure, and medical devices. The deeptech portfolio has generated over 180 patent applications, with more than 130 patents granted so far.

Chiratae Ventures currently manages over $1.3 billion in assets and has backed more than 130 startups since its inception. Its broader portfolio features major names like Flipkart, Lenskart, Myntra, FirstCry, PolicyBazaar, Cult.fit, and AgroStar.
