BIRAC to Host Global Bio-India 2023 on Dec 4-6 at Bharat Manadapam
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government Of India, in partnership with Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Public Sector Undertaking, will host the esteemed Global Bio-India 2023 at Bharat Manadapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from December 4th to 6th. The event, themed "Biotech Innovation and Bio-manufacturing", aims to spotlight India's prominence in the biotechnology sector, crucially contributing to achieving the ambitious goal of a USD 5 trillion economy. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh asserts that India is set to become one of the top 5 Global Bio-manufacturing Hubs by 2025.
The upcoming conference is anticipated to be the largest gathering of biotechnology stakeholders globally, welcoming representatives from over 30 countries, more than 500 exhibitors, in addition to 3000 delegates and 1000 startups. The event will encompass diverse activities such as B2B, B2G, G2G meetings, media engagements, policy discussions, partnering sessions, CEO roundtables, a global regulators meeting, and an investors roundtable. A primary focus of Global Bio-India 2023 is the substantial representation of biotech startups, surpassing the previous Biotech Startup Expo. The event will showcase 300+ exhibits by successful biotech startups and SMEs, alongside 100+ biotech incubation centers, 30+ large industries, services, and CROs. Additionally, ten states will actively promote their biotech policies, while 25 universities and research institutions will contribute to scientific discussions.
Notably for startups, there will be over 40 pitches to investors, involving participation from 100 investors, angels, VCs, and HNIs. The event will also organize a masterclass for startups focusing on refining the art of pitching. Public sessions during specified exhibition hours aim to bridge the gap between science and society, providing insights into the biotech sector for a wider audience. Key components of Global Bio-India 2023 include CEO roundtables engaging with MNCs across biopharma, medtech, diagnostics, industrial biotech, and bio-agri sectors. Discussions among stakeholders will center on national and global regulatory trends, with special sessions delving into biomanufacturing and the biotech innovation ecosystem. The event will facilitate industry-academia interactions and include representation from major industry associations, investor associations, and global entrepreneurship organizations, amplifying networking prospects.
