Bangalore: Yet another success story from Kochi’s Startup Village! RHLvision, a startup founded by Rohildev N , an engineering graduate has highlighted Indian startup eco-system by becoming one of the top 50 startups from around the world to be shortlisted to pitch and showcase their idea at Pioneers Festival, one of Europe’s largest startup events.

The festival, which is going to be held at Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna in a few weeks, will bring together famous entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and tech-enthusiasts from different fields in order to celebrate “a new age of pioneering”.  On October 29th, the 50 selected startups will pitch their ideas on the first day of the festival. Top 8 will be further shortlisted and they will make it to the final round on October 31 to with the Pioneers Challenge.

The startup, RHLvision- where RHL stands for Robotic Human Logic has developed a small hardware product called Fin which supports gesture interface and when worn on the thumb, user can interact with electronic devices such as the TV and surf channels through gestures. This type of technology is aimed to make usage of remotes obsolete.

Fin is a tiny 1.25cm device which supports Bluetooth and has three built-in sensors that relay the signal to smartTV which will be preloaded with RHLvision’s propriety software. Because of Bluetooth presence, gestures can be recognized with a 100-meter range. Fin is currently in prototype stage and can recognize five basic gestures. "In other gesture-based experiences, you have to move your hand close to a camera (fitted on the TV or computer). With Fin, you don't have to stretch a single muscle. You don't even have to go to a camera to wave your hand," said Rohildev.
