Initiative taken by Govt to assess India Startup Drive


With startups emerging in India government is planning a mega implement to enhance the visibility of Indian startups globally. It plans to hire a consultant firm that will assess the progress of the Startup India Program and attract the investment for startups.

Startup India program was set up on 16th January 2016 with the aim to catalyse the Indian startups and provide full support to entrepreneurs and help them establish their business in the ecosystem.

The consultant hired by the government will be the only access to line ministries for startups to put up their ideas and the strategies and run a trial for technologies and implement pilots.

 The role of the consultant will be to strengthen the network of startups in India and abroad. It will also look after the ease of doing deals, taxation, and business approvals, will give the startups access to markets and clients. The approach to finance minister for tax matter will also be made easy by the consultants.

After the initiative taken, India has witnessed 28,979 startups as of March 1,2020 out of these 21,137 startups have hired around 3.37 lakh employees. The programme will help to encourage more startups to exist and boost the initiative.

Information technology services stand ahead in the domain of Indian startups followed by healthcare and life sciences, education, agriculture, and commercial services. The consultant should define a "futuristic vision" for time-bound targets to improve India's global standing and develop "measurable indicators", like investment in startups, number of startups and employment generation says The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade(DPIIT).
