India is the Best Place for Women Entrepreneurs, Says Dell


Bangalore: Indian ecosystem has been seeing a tremendous growth in the number of small businesses and startups. Especially in the past few years the interest of youngsters, women included, has moved a lot towards starting their own businesses instead of the usual corporate jobs. As an additional reason of pride for the country, India was reported to be the best place for women entrepreneurs according to a study by Dell.

In Dell Women's Global Entrepreneurship Study conducted for above 450 women entrepreneur across India, US and the UK by research firm Penn Schoen Berland, found that Indian women entrepreneur are confident on their business growth compared to counterparts in the US and the UK, reports Times of India. “We have found the ideal country for a woman starting a business in 2012 could well be India," says Amit Midha, Dell Chairman for Global Emerging Markets.

1.India

The study declares Indian women entrepreneurs to be much more confident and growth oriented than their foreign counterparts. Women Entrepreneurs in India expect a commendable 90 per cent growth in their business over period of five years. Alongside towering expectation and anticipations, Indian women entrepreneur always keep themselves on the toe and learn constantly. "When I started my business I didn't even know how to write a business proposal for getting a loan sanctioned. But I was born to be a businesswoman and hence I could reach this stage without looking back," says Rita Singh, from MESCO and winner of Best Woman Entrepreneur of the Decade Award by FICCI. "Over the past twenty years the role of women community in India has transformed from homemakers to home facilitators. Both husband and wives contribute to their share of household and work related responsibilities. That's what comes as a big relief to any career oriented women," says Chavi Hemanth, Secretary General of Indian Direct Selling Association.
