Microsoft has always been referred to be the “luck” in computing field. The story of Bill Gates, arguably Harvard’s most famous dropout before Mark Zuckerberg came along, by now is a legend. He was labeled to be the worlds richest man from the year 1995 to 2009, excluding 2008, when he was ranked third in the list. Bill and his childhood friend Paul Allen had a serious passion in computer programming. He joined Allen at MITS taking a leave of absence from Harvard but he never returned back to complete his studies.

In an interview in May 2006, Gates commented that he wished that he were not the richest man in the world because he disliked the attention it brought him. Starting from a scratch of interest and making it worth $201.59 billion and employing as much as 92,000 people was once a dorm room activity.
