Are Indian Venture Capitalists Cold Blooded Startup Killers?

#3 No Guts, No Glory

Most of the Indian VCs are short sighted; they invest on something which gives them immediate returns. We can find themselves clueless about the ventures they are investing and support only the copy of US based ideas to be implemented in India. A startup which is engaged in a new field finds itself rejected multiple times by the VCs even though the idea has a global appeal to it.

We can find very few VCs who have the guts to support a new innovation and invest in the venture in which most of their peers have not invested.

Here in this article, the aim here is not to attack the VCs in India, but to trigger a change that can help create billion dollar startup ventures better than Facebook and Twitter. As per an entrepreneur and former venture capitalist who chose anonymity said, “VCs can be an anchor in a storm, rather than a deadweight that sinks startups”.
