#5 EduSports

When a friend of Saumil Majumdar complained that his kid preferred to watch television rather than sweat it out on the playground, Majumdar came up with a simple, but effective, solution. Along with three other friends Meer Waqiruddin Khaleeq, Parminder Gill, and sister-in-law Jyoti Majumdar he founded the sports management services company, EduSports, in January 2009.

EduSports aims at the holistic development of a child. Every child should have a childhood filled with games and play times with their friends and loved one which is not easy to provide in cities today – EduSports aims to fill that void. EduSports has contracts in major schools of the country and manages their sports curriculum. Today, EduSports has impacted over 1.5 lakh students in nearly 220 schools across 70 cities and has provided employment to more than 280 sport instructors to date.

The company has 340 employees and it pulled in Rs 8.3 crores in 2011-12. In the next fiscal year, it hopes to make Rs 13 crore.
